1st Feature:

I love my job and I am able to have an impact on the land because of support from people like you.

What: I lead all of our public access projects and anything related to ecological management. I steward our owned lands and conservation easements.

How: In the summer, I’m outside clearing trails, working with volunteers and surveying wildlife. In the winter, I focus on planning and grants.

Why: I was inspired to work in this field because I love nature and working with animals. I was also motivated by the fact that this work has a lasting impact.

Jen Adams

DIRECTOR OF LAND STEWARDSHIP

2nd Feature!

By donating to Winnakee, you give a voice to a resource that otherwise can’t speak up for itself in a time when it desperately needs it.

What: I provide landowners with forestry options, balancing stewardship with financial returns and generating sustainable options for future benefits.

How: I perform timber inventories, mark trees for silvicultural prescriptions, write management plans, engage with landowners and inspect properties.

Why: I love to be with the trees and make landscape level changes that I can see today, knowing future generations will also get to enjoy the labor that I put into it.

Trevor Keough

CONSERVATION FORESTER

3rd feature!

Winnakee was able to protect 350 additional acres of high priority lands in 2024. This year, we’re on track to do even more with your help.”

What: I’m responsible for new land protection projects. This includes donations and purchases of lands and conservation easements.

How: I support landowners interested in their land protection options, evaluate conservation resources, apply to grants, and draft conservation easement terms.

Why: Growing up, I was aware that my ability to enjoy the outdoors and learn about nature was contingent on the ability of organizations like ours to protect and steward land.

Laura O’Brien

CONSERVATION PROJECT MANAGER

4th Feature!

For anyone interested in conserving the land in our community, supporting Winnakee’s approach to active stewardship is perhaps the most impactful gift you can make.”

What: At the end of the day, my job is to create a supportive environment where we are working and learning together, aligned to the same crucial mission.

How: I meet with staff regularly about ongoing projects, as well as supporters. I promote our mission at events and host educational walks on our properties.

Why: After 40 years in conservation, I needed a new challenge and found my way to Winnakee. Building this team will be my greatest legacy to the organization.

Bob Davis

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
